Sue Rokea

Yoga Instructor

Sue believes yoga is for everybody at every stage of life. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practising for years, she intends to create a welcoming space where students feel supported, inspired, and encouraged to move in ways that honour their own bodies. Originally from the United States and now proud to call Mangawhai home, Sue discovered yoga 25 years ago and began teaching in 2015. As a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, she brings together mindful movement, functional alignment, breath awareness, and the connection between body and mind into each class. Whether guiding a dynamic Power Yoga practice, a Gentle Flow, or a grounding Yin class, Sue’s intention is to help students build strength, find balance, and reconnect with themselves. She believes yoga is more than just movement — it is a pathway to connection, resilience, and community. Sue moved to New Zealand to be closer to her family, who remain at the heart of everything she does. Outside of teaching, you'll find her exploring her creative side, practicing yoga, cooking, baking sourdough bagels for friends, strength training, golfing, and hanging out at the beach. She believes that faith, family, movement, good food, and community are essential parts of a life lived well.

Justine

Mindfulness & Movement

Yoga and Mat Pilates

For Justine, movement has never been just about the body; it has always been a way to cultivate awareness, resilience, and connection. Her journey began at the age of 8 as a professional gymnast, where she developed a deep connection with movement, discipline, and body awareness. This early experience sparked a lifelong exploration of the relationship between the body, breath, and mind. For more than 15 years, Justine has shared her passion for movement and mindfulness internationally, teaching adults and children in a variety of settings around the world. From studios and schools to teaching aboard superyachts, and through creating her own yoga studio in Nicaragua, she has developed an intuitive and adaptable approach, meeting students where they are and guiding them through movement with awareness and intention. At the heart of her teaching is a simple belief: awareness is the practice. Through mindful movement and conscious breathing, her classes blend mobility, strength, and body awareness, creating a space where students can explore movement with curiosity and presence. Each practice is an invitation to listen deeply, adapt to what the body and mind need in the moment, and reconnect with themselves both on and off the mat. Beyond the studio, Justine is happiest close to the ocean; surfing, exploring and embracing the slower rhythms of island and beach life. Having lived and worked in surf resorts in the tropics, she has always been drawn to places where nature, connection, and adventure are part of everyday life. A passionate photographer, she loves capturing the beauty of a moment. She also loves the art of healthy living; from cooking fresh, nourishing food and getting lost in a good book to creating simple rituals that bring more balance and joy into everyday life. Whether you are beginning your journey or deepening an existing practice, Justine’s intention is to help you cultivate greater connection, resilience, and confidence, leaving each class feeling more grounded, energised, and connected to yourself.

Imogen.jpg

Imogen

Yoga Instructor

Imogen completed her yoga teacher training in Aotearoa in 2021, with the desire to deepen her own practice. Her training sparked a genuine passion for sharing the benefits of yoga with others, and she has taught in Auckland, Mangawhai and Fiji. Each class is grounded in the belief that hauora (health and wellbeing) comes from holistically nurturing all aspects of ourselves: Taha tinana (physical wellbeing), Taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), Taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing), and Taha whānau (social wellbeing). Inspired by a deep curiosity for te taiao, Imogen weaves the rhythms of the maramataka (Māori lunar calendar), the changing seasons, and the elements into her teaching. Through thoughtfully curated playlists, breath-led movement and fluid sequences, she creates an accessible and inclusive space where individual needs are met. Her classes cultivate both strength and softness, movement and stillness, leaving you feeling grounded, calm and balanced while nurturing every aspect of your hauora.

Dre.jpg

Reformer and Mat Pilates

After many years as a student of Pilates, experiencing firsthand just how transformative the practice can be, Dre made the transition from student to teacher. She wanted to share that same magic with others while continuing to deepen her own practice along the way. Her classes blend contemporary Pilates with nods to the classical repertoire, creating sessions that are intentional, challenging, inclusive, and always fun. Expect a purposeful flow, supportive guidance, a few laughs, and a playlist that’ll keep you moving. For Dre, every class is an opportunity to carry forward a practice that has shaped her own life. She believes that movement is medicine, and seeing clients leave class feeling better than when they walked in, feeling stronger, more connected to their bodies, and more confident in their movement is what fuels her passion for teaching and continues to be her biggest why. Outside of teaching, Dre loves spending time with her whānau, exploring Mangawhai’s beaches and coastal walks, chasing the sun, and soaking up the slower pace of life.

LAUREN

Yoga Instructor

I've been teaching yoga for over 10 years, with my journey taking me from Melbourne to the beautiful coastal community of Mangawhai. Along the way I've taught through many seasons of life including pregnancy, motherhood, business ownership and the constant reminder that growth isn't something we arrive at, it's something we practice. My classes weave together yoga, mobility, breathwork and mindful movement to help you build strength, move with more freedom and reconnect with yourself. Whether you're completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, my intention is to create a welcoming space where you can meet yourself exactly as you are, while gently exploring what's possible. Beyond the studio, I'm the founder of Flexys Wellness and a creative at heart, passionate about helping people live with greater awareness, resilience and intention. For me, yoga has never been just about movement, it's a practice of learning how to navigate life with curiosity, compassion and presence, both on and off the mat. If you spend any time with me, you'll quickly discover I'm a sunshine chaser with a love for fresh flowers, slow mornings, fashion, good books and long beach walks with my dog. I'm endlessly fascinated by Human Design, numerology and the ways we can better understand ourselves, and my greatest joy is building a life in alignment alongside my incredible partner and our four children. My hope is that every class leaves you feeling a little lighter, a little stronger, and a little more connected, to your body, your breath and yourself. I can't wait to see you on the mat.

Reformer Pilates

After the birth of my second daughter, I was left with postnatal injuries that meant I could no longer run- something that had always been my favourite way to move and clear my mind. I was searching for a way to regain my strength, support my body, and carve out time for myself. That’s when I discovered reformer Pilates. What started as part of my own recovery quickly became a passion, changing not only the way I moved, but also how I felt. It gave me strength, confidence, and a whole new appreciation for what our bodies are capable of. After training as a reformer Pilates instructor, I had the privilege of teaching at a couple of studios in Auckland for two years before relocating to Mangawhai and welcoming our third daughter. My classes are designed to challenge and support you in equal measure. I believe movement should leave you feeling stronger, more capable, and more confident than when you walked in. Whether you’re new to reformer Pilates or have years of experience, my goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel encouraged to move well, challenge yourself, and celebrate what your body can do. I believe Pilates has something to offer everybody. Whether your goal is to build strength, improve mobility, recover from injury, or complement another form of exercise, Pilates provides a strong foundation for moving well and feeling your best. My goal is simple: to help you move well, feel strong, and enjoy an hour that’s just for you.

Reformer and Mat Pilates

After moving to Mangawhai in 2019, I quickly realised I needed something that would help me settle into life in a new country. I joined my local gym, and what started as a way to fill my time and get out of the house soon became an essential part of my wellbeing. Exercise became so much more than fitness—it became something that supported my mental health, gave me a sense of routine and belonging, and helped me navigate the transition of moving from California to Mangawhai. Through the gym, I was introduced to Reformer Pilates, and immediately fell in love with it. I spent the next few years attending classes and discovered not only how much stronger my body felt, but also how empowering and enjoyable movement can be in a group setting. After working across a variety of industries, I realised I wanted a career that felt meaningful and aligned with my passion for health, wellness, and helping others. I completed my Reformer Pilates instructor training in early 2025 and haven’t looked back since. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching people grow in confidence, build strength, and achieve things they never thought they could. I love creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels supported, challenged, and encouraged to move in a way that makes them feel their best. My goal is for every client to leave class feeling stronger, more capable, and just a little bit better than they did when they walked in.

Glen.jpg

Glen

Yoga & Dynamic Movement

Glen started yoga a bit later in life, spurred on by the impending arrival of his first daughter and a desire to be able to move freely to play and raise healthy kids. Yoga helped heal his chronic pain from injuries incurred during years of hiking, climbing and biking in the mountains and back country. Over a decade ago Glen did yoga teacher training to further his knowledge for his own practice and healing journey but fell into teaching classes as cover halfway through the course and, much to his surprise, loved the sessions and how he could help people find more freedom of movement and stillness of mind. Glen opened his own studio at his family’s accommodation business on Tara Road in Mangawhai, and taught classes and 1:1 sessions to locals and visitors for many years, focusing on vinyasa, or flowing yoga that matches movement to breath. Glen is a certified breathwork facilitator and understands the importance of pranayama in yoga, movement, and life, so he weaves various breathing methods throughout all his sessions. He is also passionate about teaching people how to have their own breathwork practices as well as running group transformational and experiential breathwork sessions. Glen is also an Animal Flow instructor, so you might see him crawling around at Picnic Bay.

MEET KAYLA

Mangawhai has always felt like home. From just eight months old, it became the place where I learned to walk, found my love for movement, and discovered the outdoors. Countless summers were spent waterskiing, surfing, biking, exploring, and embracing an active lifestyle that would quietly shape the person I am today. Movement has been a constant throughout my life. From competitive gymnastics as a child to representing New Zealand in competitive cheerleading, it became more than something I did—it became a way of understanding myself and connecting with the world around me. In my early twenties, I moved to Melbourne, where I discovered Pilates. What began as a personal practice quickly became a passion. After two years of dedicated practice, I completed my 300-hour comprehensive Mat and Reformer Pilates training with One Hot Yoga & Pilates. Shortly after graduating, I was invited to join the teaching team—a moment that confirmed I had found something I truly loved. Alongside my career as a scientist, teaching Pilates remained a constant. My weekends became devoted to exploring movement and wellness spaces—from Pilates and yoga studios to saunas and ice baths—experiences that deepened my appreciation for spaces designed with intention, presence, and community. Earlier this year, I followed a calling to spend a month in Bali, immersing myself in yoga and completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. More than a qualification, it became a lesson in slowing down. Everywhere I went, I was met with the gentle reminder, pelan pelan—”slowly, slowly”—a simple Balinese philosophy that encouraged presence, patience, and moving through life with greater intention. It deepened my understanding of compassion, kindness, and the quiet strength found in meeting ourselves exactly as we are. Those lessons became woven into the heart of WOLF, shaping a space where people are invited to slow down, move with intention, and feel nourished. As the vision grew, I realised I wasn't simply creating a business—I was creating the kind of place I had always searched for. A second home where people could breathe, move, and feel nourished. A space where strength and softness exist in harmony, movement is guided by intention, and community is woven into every experience. That place became WOLF Studios. WOLF is FLOW spelled backwards—a quiet reflection of the philosophy that shapes everything we do. It speaks to the balance between strength and softness, movement and stillness, challenge and ease. Inspired by the quiet power of the wolf and the gentle rhythm of flow, it is a reminder that both can exist together, and that our greatest strength is often found in balance. Bringing WOLF home to Mangawhai feels like a full-circle moment. It is an opportunity to give back to the community that shaped me and to create a space where others can find their own rhythm, build meaningful connections, and experience the transformative power of intentional movement.
